Next Generation HVDC LSR Technology

HVDC interconnections enable the integration of renewables and power grid markets.  HVDC links are being targeted as the next-generation technology links regions, countries, and even continents.  In doing so, HVDC provides the capability to loads, maximizing the use of renewables while enabling power trading or balancing.

One primary advantage of HVDC interconnections is the transmission loss reduction: as HVDC systems can reduce transmission losses significantly compared with currently implemented HVAC systems. Due to this, HVDC can be and should be viewed as the only viable method to transport large amounts of electricity in cable systems.  HVDC systems possess the ability to overcome issues in capacitive charging of the insulation caused by alternating current, which consequently leads to large losses of active power in long distance HVAC cable systems.

Current demands for reliable power supply are continually increasing. These demands are introducing new challenges to modern power supply systems. The objectives of this webinar are to introduce innovative liquid silicone rubber (LSR) technologies which are positioned to enable and expand the HVDC network capability, functionality and longevity in addition to briefly covering the HVDC market landscape. As a Global market leader in cable accessories silicone elastomer technology we will discuss the advantages Silicone LSR technology in HVDC cable accessory applications.  In addition to introducing innovative new LSR technology for HVDC applications.

The objectives of this webinar are to outline the HVDC market landscape and introduce innovative liquid silicone rubber (LSR) technologies which are positioned to enable and expand the HVDC network capability, functionality and longevity.
